The primary objective of our research is to seek fundamental advancements in the area of organic synthesis. Efforts in our laboratories are devoted to projects of natural product total synthesis. These target oriented programs are designed to explore proposed innovations of selective reactivity, new reagents and methodologies, as well as conceptual advances of strategy in the structures of complex molecular architectures. These challenging projects provide rewarding educational experiences which uniquely blend intellect and application as an unsurpassed proving ground for the future Ph.D.
